First Known School Room in Vermilion Parish

H. L. "Sonny" Harkins, Class of 1952 reported that his Grandfather attended this one-room school. His name was

     Willis Milton Harkins. The picture of the Grandfather, Father, H. L. and his son has been published. School

room was located where the 2 story Hibernia/Police Jury Building is now on Charity Street.
