Jesse Owens Elementary Principal, Jonathan Williams, Dies at 57.
Mr. Jonathan Williams is a husband, father, grandfather, son
and brother to his immediate family. To us, “his other family”, he was a
teacher, coach, principal, and mostly, a friend. Our problems, joys, and
accomplishments were his, too. There will never be another one to walk in his
shoes. He earned every bit of respect he had, from the students he taught, to
the teachers and staff he guided. Jesse Owens will never be quite the same
without Mr. Williams, from his “Good Morning” welcomes to his “Don’t forget to
do your homework!” good-byes. It is homecoming week in the town he grew up and
took great pride in. We know in our hearts that the Lord has taken him home.
There are no words to express our loss.
