To insert a picture

  1. Click “Insert” at the top

  2. Click on “Clip Art”, a box will appear on the right
    -In the top "search for:" box type the item you want to find
    -In the next box, "search in", choose "All Collections"
    -Click "GO"

  3. When you find the item you want to add,
    -Double click on the picture
    -When you see the picture in your document,
        >Click on "Text Wrapping" on the ribbon at the top
        >Click on "Tight"

  4. You will now be able to move your picture to the desired position

  5. Once your picture is in your document you can change the size by clicking and dragging the small circles in the corner of the picture. 

  6. You can move the picture by holding down the left mouse button and dragging.

  7. To put the picture where you want it, click in the center of the picture and drag it to where you want it.

  8. Save your file by clicking “Save” or the save button at the top left corner.

Text Box: This is a text box with no border.
To insert a Text Box

 

  1. Click “Insert”

  2. Click “text box”

  3. Click on "Draw Textbox" at the bottom

  4. You can now use your mouse to draw the box.  Move the mouse down to the page, it will be a “+”.  Hold down the left mouse button as you drag the mouse to create a box.  Once the box is on the screen, click inside and begin typing.
    **The box will get larger as you type!!**

  5. To change the font inside the box, highlight the text and a box will pop up to allow you to change size, color, and type. Or you can click on “Home” and change size, color, and type from there. 

  6. To remove or change the lines around your text box:
    a.
    Highlight the box by clicking on it.
    b.
     Right click on the box.
    c.
     Click on “Format Text Box”
    d.
     Click on “Colors and Lines”
    e.
     Chose the color and type of line you want and click “OK”

  7. If you have trouble moving the box
    a.
      Highlight the box by clicking on it.
    b.
      Right click on the box.
    c.
      Click on “Format Text Box”
    d.
      Click on “Layout”
    e.
      Click on “Tight”
    f.
       Click on “OK”

ExampleTo insert Word Art

  1. Click “Insert”

  2. Click “Word Art”

  3. A box will appear for you to choose the style.  Click on the desired style.

  4. A box will appear for you to type your text.

  5. After you have typed the desired text click “OK”.

  6. To move your Word Art you must select it then:

b.  Click on “WordArt Tools” at the top of the ribbon

c.  Click on “Text Wrapping”

d.  Click on “Tight With Text”

e.  Click “OK”

f.  Your Word Art can now be clicked and dragged to move about the page.

Saving a picture to insert into a document

  1. Find the picture you want to use

  2. Right click on the picture

  3. Choose "Save image as"

  4. at the top, save image in your user folder

  5. give it a name in the bottom box

  6. go back to your document

  7. Click "insert"

  8. Click "picture"

  9. at the top in the "Look in:" box choose your user folder

  10. double click on the picture

Creating a Watermark in Power Point

1. Find a picture you want to use,  (save it in your folder if it is not clipart).

2. In the left margin right click on the slide you want to add your watermark to.

3. Click on “Format Background”

4. Click “Picture or Texture”

5. Click “File”

6. Find the picture in your folder

7. Press OK, and click  Close

8. Your are done, your picture is now on the background of your slide.

Creating a Watermark in Word

1. Find the picture you want and save it in your folder on the server.

2. In word, go to “Page Layout” at the top

3. Click on the “Watermark” button (at the top in the middle of the screen”

4. At the bottom of the list click on “Custom Watermark”

5. Click “Select Picture”

6. Insert the picture from you folder on the server.

7. Click “OK”

8. Press “Apply” then “Close”

9. You are done, your picture is now on the background of your page.

Save to the Server

  1. Click on the button in the top left corner

  2. Click on "Save As"

  3. In the pop up box, choose your server folder (ID# on bigbird/students) by clicking on the box next to the words "Save In:"

  4. At the bottom where it says "File Name:" put your period, your first name and your last initial (example, my file name if I were in 2nd period would be "2juneb")

  5. Click on the Save button

Drop in the Drop Box

  1.  Make sure your document is closed

  2. Double click on My Computer

  3. Double click on your user folder

  4. Right click on your document

  5. Click on "Copy", you will not see anything happen

  6. Click on the back arrow

  7. Double Click on teachers on sch16

  8. Double Click on "bergeron"

  9. Double Click on "Dropbox"

  10. Right click anywhere in the white space and click paste

  11. You will see your file but you will NOT be able to open it

Uploading to Moodle

  1. Log onto Moodle using your ID number and password

  2. At the top of your Moodle homepage click on "My Home" in the  bar at the top of the page

  3. On the right column find "Manage My Private Files" and click

  4. Find "Upload a file" on the left

  5. In the center of the screen you will see a blank box and a "Browse" button. Click on the Browse Button

  6. In the pop up box find the file you created and click it. The file name will appear in the blank box in front of the Browse Button

  7. When you see the file name, click on "Upload this file"

  8. When the file has uploaded you will see it in the box below the Browse Button. Click on the Save Changes Button

  9. To open the file, simply double click the file listed under "My Private Files"

  10. Remember, every time you make a change in the document it must be uploaded AGAIN to have the change entered into the document on Moodle.

Deleting a File From Moodle

  1. Log onto Moodle using your ID number and password

  2. At the top of your Moodle homepage click on "My Home" in the  bar at the top of the page

  3. On the right column find "Manage My Private Files" and click

  4. You will see your file with a small square next to it, click on the square and click "Delete" from the popup menu

To Add A Network Printer:

Ø Click “Start”

Ø Click “Printers and Faxes”

Ø Click “Add a printer”—this will either be in the big white box or the list under “Printer Tasks” on the left hand side of the window

Ø At the “Welcome to the Add Printer Wizard” click “Next” at the bottom

Ø Click the circle next to “A network printer, or a printer attached to another computer” then click “Next”

Ø In next box choose “Connect to this printer”
Name: \\bergeron16\DellLaser and click “Next”
**when you put the back slash after the 6 the full name will pop up, just click on the name **

Ø It will ask if you want this to be your default, click “Yes”

Ø Click “Next” it may take a minute but when it’s done you will see your “Printers and Faxes” box with the new printer added.
