"I CHOSE TO TEACH"
I chose to teach
because for a number of reasons. One reason is that teaching is
the only profession that gives me the opportunity to instill the
love of learning in young people. Another reason is that I truly
love to work with children of all ages. As a librarian, I had
the opportunity to know and work with all the students in the
school. Finally, the most important reason is seeing in a
child’s eyes when he/she has gotten the concept as we say “The
light bulb came on".
Most rewarding moments of my teaching experience is having former students now in college come back and say how much they enjoyed my class and how it is helping them in their college studies. One former student, now at UL, told me recently that I was the inspiration that lead her into the education field. As educators, we all want to make that difference in a child’s life.
