Unit 4 Louisiana’s Leaders 5 Weeks Unit Description This unit focuses on the responsibilities of state government, the state’s laws, and the roles of key government officials. The unit also explores government elections and the characteristics of good leaders and citizens.	Student Understandings Students understand the state election process. They also understand the major responsibilities of state government, the difference between a rule and a law, and how laws are made. Students understand the roles of elected officials and leaders and what characterizes a good leader and citizen.
