We would like to welcome you to our Credit Union. As an
employee of the Vermilion
Parish School
Board, or as a family member of an employee, you are eligible for membership in
our Credit Union. We are conveniently located in the parking lot of the
Central Office (the yellow building at the end of the long brick warehouse), at
220 South Jefferson Street, Abbeville, Louisiana. Please
come by our office and visit us. Allow us to answer any questions you may
have regarding the benefits of becoming a member.
Membership
is very affordable. As we have for many years, our membership charge is
$.25, with a minimum deposit of $5 into the account. Payroll deduction
allows for added convenience. With payroll deduction, you can
effortlessly deposit into your share account, make payments on loans, deposit
into accounts of family members, or have payments made directly to your
Christmas Club account.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING LIFE SAVINGS INSURANCE -- Vermilion School Employees Credit
Union has a tradition of offering our members rock bottom loan rates and high
yields on savings. Time and again, this
is what our members tell us they want. To
continue meeting this commitment, we are making some changes to help better
manage our expenses and align services with your needs.
Effective April 30, 2007, we
are canceling our Life Savings Insurance group policy — term life
insurance we provided at no cost to you on eligible savings deposits. Coverage on existing insurable deposits will
end on May 31, 2007, the last day of the conversion period. Please destroy any CUNA Mutual Life Savings
Certificate of Insurance at that time.

Skip-A-Payment Promotion
IT’S BACK AGAIN! We are currently offering a promotion allowing you to skip a payment
on your loan. If you have more than one
loan, you can skip a payment for each loan if you choose. Just select the month in which you want to
skip—between June 1 and December 1—and we’ll take care of the
rest for you. There is only a $15
processing fee per loan to take advantage of this promotion. (Interest
will continue to accumulate on your loan during the month that you skip your
payment.) Take advantage of this

GOOD HABITS PROTECT
YOUR PLASTIC CARDS AGAINST FRAUD. . .
Plastic card fraud
statistics are up, and much of the fraud comes from criminal activities we
can’t control. But safeguarding
your cards—and your identity—from the risk of exposure starts with
keeping constant control of your cards, card numbers, and any other information
about your finances. Make good habits
and stop bad ones to minimize your card risk.
For example, if your card has a PIN (personal identification number),
memorize it. Skip easily recognizable PINs such as the last four digits of your Social Security
number or phone number. Also, carry only
cards you are going to use and leave all other cards in a safe place at
home. Providing your personal and
financial information to anyone can lead to ID theft and phishing
attacks. Know whom you are dealing
with. When it comes to card safety, if
you don’t practice good habits, you’ll pay. The good news is practicing good habits goes
a long way to keeping you and your cards safe.
