Dozier Fall of 2005

On October 6, 2005, student body is platooned to a school more than 20 miles away. This system was in place until March 10, 2006.

On March 13, 2006 student body and teachers return to a stripped school. (No tiles, no doors, etc.) Remained there until May 2006.

In September 2006, the students and teachers were moved to a FEMA facility north of our town. Remained there until May of 2009.

In 2008, Dozier Elementary once again goes under water due to Hurricane Ike's tidal surge along the coast of Vermilion Parish. (The school campus fortunately at the time was at the FEMA building.)

The school is reopened in August 2009.
