Dozier Elementary Librarian Schuyler Poche' received a $4,000 grant earlier this year for the school's library. The Dollar General "Literacy Grant" is a grant in which educators can apply for annually. The school applied during the summer and Poche received word in the fall that she was a grant recipient. This is Poche's second Dollar General grant.

She also received a similar grant in 2011. Both grants were used for technology upgrades for her library. With the money received in the fall, she purchased five new computers. In addition to the computers, she used funds to purchase two iPads, cases, accessories and multiple reading and comprehension based apps for all of her library iPads.

During the 2014-15 year, she received four Ipads, bringing her total to six library iPads at this time. In the spring, Poche' received two grants, as well. One proposal was for a Windows 10 laptop. She received that a couple of weeks ago. Her second proposal was for a Nikon 3300 library camera and flash to have on hand for her library and school events. A total of resources that Poche received during the 2015-2016 year, lies close to $6000, which includes six new computers, two new iPads (and reading apps), a camera and accessories.
