World Math Day @ Dozier Elementary

World Math Day Site incorporates the power of internet, while uniting schools and students around the globe.  The event is a worldwide math project that is held annually allowing students to compete for answers online. On March 2nd, many students throughout Vermilion Parish participated in the annual online event.


At Dozier Elementary 5th grade students of DeEtte Bigot and Suzette Stutes' students were among a few classes who were able to participate in the unique learning experience. The students were able to utilize the school's mobile lab (laptops) and classroom computers to participate in the event.

In the time span of two hours, students in both classes answered 22,637 correct answers. Top score earner was Brianna Hebert with 869 problems answered correctly. Information about the World Math Day Project can be found @
