Mrs. Viator and Mrs. Toups' 4th Grade Classes Learn About Moon Phases

Using Oreos to Model Moon Phases! Maleigha Viator, a 4th grade teacher at Dozier Elementary worked with a unique hands on moon phase project with her students recently.
As a 4th grade team teacher she teaches two sections of Math and Science. Both her class, as well as students in Jennifer Toups' class, participated in the fun activity to help
the students understand the different phases of the moon. The students were given small oreo cookies. The students had to separate the cookies, then remove some of the
cream to model what the different moon phases would look like. To end the lesson, students then placed the oreo with a particular moon phase on a paper plate and
they labeled each phase below that cookie to see if they mastered the moon phases.
