During this year’s convention, 2010-11 State Secretary (and Erath High Sr.) Jenna Diz presided over the third general session with classmate Davonte Augustus delivering the inspiration for her session.  Many club members were active in competitions and served in different capacities before and during conference. The EHS Leadership class created the stage decorations. Dustin Campbell worked with the videos for the big screen, produced videos to begin each general session, as well as slide shows of award recipients.

As Jenna Diz's state tenure came to a close on Friday afternoon, another Erath High student walked in to begin his term as a state officer. During the 2011 convention, EHS presidential candidate, Ryan Poche was selected as the Louisiana Beta Club President for the 2011-2012 year. Ryan Poche is currently a Jr. at Erath High and the son of Mark and Schuyler Poche of Erath.

Poche will run for President at the National Level in Nashville, Tennessee June 21st through June 24th. He will be also attending the Beta Broyhill Leadership Conference as well July 15th-20th in South Carolina.

With the “Swamp People” campaign theme, the Erath High Beta Club walked away with a 1st place honor for Poche’s campaign board. His campaign skit, as well as is campaign poster designed by Davonte Augustus, Krislyn Romero and Megan LeBlanc placed third. The club competed in several other activities as well.

Seven Erath High students participated and performed in the opening and closing dances of the first general session. Those performing from EHS were Jenna Diz, Krislyn Romero, Alexis Chaisson, Christen Landry, Annie Watson, Jordan Lange, and Davonte Augustus. Beta members Logan Soileau and Brett Young shared their musical talent as entertainment on Friday morning.
