Erath Homecoming 2015 Grand Marshal
Dr. Johnny Thibodeaux

A common sight standing with each Erath football team since 1979 has been the team doctor. In the past 35+ years, the faces of players have changed, eight coaches have served and nine Principals have led the school, but the team's hometown physician, Dr. Johnny Thibodeaux has been a staple on Friday nights standing with his team since then.

He began his practice in Erath in 1979 and for the past three and a half decades has worked with Erath High Athletics offering countless hours of his time the past three and a half decades. Principal Marc Turner recently stated, that "Erath High offers a sincere thank you for his service to the community and our school."

Dr. Johnny Thibodeaux is a native of Henry and a 1968 Erath High Graduate. As a child he attended Henry High and transferred to Erath High as he began his freshman year.

Dr. Thibodeaux is the son of the late Sulie and Therese Thibodeaux and grandson of Simon and Pamela Rodriguez and Eraste and Mary Louise Thibodeaux.

He married Pam Richard Thibodeaux on May 30, 1970, and together they had three children, Richie, Jan, and Micah. He and his wife Pam, also have four grandchildren, Christian and Gavin Thibodeaux and Brooks and Ali Bouillion. He has one daughter in law, Lisa Thibodeaux and one son in law, Erath High's own Coach Jonathan Bouillion.

During his high school years, he played basketball and was in track all four years. He also played football for two years.

Dr. Thibodeaux graduated from Erath High in 1968 and then attended USL (University of Southwestern Louisiana) from the fall of 1968 until 1970. He then attended and graduated from LSU Medical School in New Orleans. After his residency, he returned to Erath and opened his practice on January 15, 1979.

His long time journey with the Erath Athletic Department and following the football team when he began taking care of athletes in the spring of 1979. Something, he continues to do to do to this day.

Some of his hobbies include sailing, reading, traveling with his family and attending UL sporting events.

Thibodeaux will lead the parade as Erath High Grand Marshal for the 2015 Erath High Homecoming Parade beginning at 12:30 PM on Friday, September 25, 2015.
