Erath Prepares to Celebrate their 67th Homecoming Event

I. Powder Puff Events will be held on Wednesday, September 14th.  All students report to the stadium for check-in at 6:30 p.m. Students must be wearing class t-shirts to participate in the honor guard for the powderpuff court and cheer from the sidelines. Each class will earn participation points for the percentage of students that show up. Powderpuff court members and powderpuff cheerleaders in uniform are the only students who will be counted without wearing a class shirt. Each class will choose a class song and create a banner. Before the game, the class will enter the field to their song with the girls running through the banner and the boys forming an honor guard. Admission is $3 for EHS Students wearing class shirts and powderpuff cheerleaders in uniform and $5 for everyone else. Powderpuff courts members and their parents and children under kindergarten level are admitted free.

II. EHS Bulletin Boards: Each Erath HIGH class will decorate a bulletin board on Friday, September 16th during lunch, and it must be finished at the end of extended lunch.  The bulletin board will represent a chosen day from homecoming week.  It must include the date, theme, dress code, and lunch time game.  It can be 3D, but there cannot be any electronic devices on the bulletin board.  Each class must supply all materials needed to decorate their board.   

III. Service Projects for Erath HIGH: Each class must deliver the items before the morning bell rings on the morning of. Nothing will be accepted after! The winning class each day will receive 2 bonus points.  Two parent volunteer from each class should be there to count items each morning.

Monday, September 19th:

Shirt & Shoe Drive

All items must be put in boxes or bags. Only uncut t-shirts and gently worn shoes will be accepted.  Tie shoes together if possible.

20 shirts = 1 point

5 pairs of shoes = 1 point

Maximum 25 points

 Wednesday, September 21st:

Newspaper Drive

Must be stacked neatly  in

Plastic bags. NO

GARBAGE BAGS

20 pounds = 1 point

Maximum 20 points

Friday, September 23rd :

Canned Food Drive

Must be put into

boxes.

20 can goods = 1 point

Maximum 20 points

 

IV. Chant Rules for Erath HIGH:

Each class will need to create a song promoting class spirit and unity.  The same rhythm from popular songs can be used with modified lyrics. Lyrics must be approved by administration by Monday, September 26th.  The class must have a minimum of 15 students participating.  Every student participating must be singing majority of the time, and must also wear their class shirt. Only students from that class can participate.  No music or props can be used, and the performance cannot exceed 1 minute 30 seconds.

 

V. Best Dressed Rules for Erath HIGH: Each class president will receive 10 Best Dressed stickers per day to hand out to classmates. Those 10 students selected will compete for Best Dressed honors after the lunch time game each day.  Judges will select up to 5 Best Dressed winners each day. Each person selected gets 1 extra point for his/her class. If a group is selected, the class receives one point. If members of the group are from more than one class, each class represented earns 1 point.

 

VI. Block Party for Erath HIGH will be Sunday, September 25th 10 AM-4 PM

Must be done in advance:

-Float must be built on 10 to 12 foot utility trailer.

-The base coat of the float must be painted prior. -The design may be stenciled on the float.

-Each class must provide all materials needed.

-The float must reflect the given class theme that deals with homecoming. It should incorporate EHS and bobcats into the decorations which can be 3-D. If any other school mascot is used, it must be approved by administration beforehand.  Help from parents should be kept to a minimum!

On Homecoming Day: Floats must be parked on Bobcat Alley by 9:00 a.m. Only 4 students are allowed to ride on the float. Float riders should be dressed in costumes dealing with the theme and can throw candy but must remain seated.  The float will be judged while on the parade route.  A faculty member must ride with/on the float.  The float should remain parked on Bobcat Alley to show off for the football game.

Points 1st Place = 20 points 2nd Place = 15 points 3rd Place = 10 points 4th Place= 5 points

VII. Hall of Fame Event will be on Thursday, September 29, 2016 at 7:00 PM at the Community Center. Mike Mouton, Sarah Touchet Alpough and the late Weston Stoute Sr. will be inducted. The public is invited.

 

 

VIII. Dress Code for Erath High Students September 26th-30th. (Note: what is listed in is for EHS students only.)

Each day for the week of Homecoming will be a specific theme and dress day.

-Monday: Dress like a nerd.

-Tuesday: Dress as something that starts with the same letter as your name, or wear your first letter of your name and make words with friends!

-Wednesday: It’s pajama day! Wear your most fabulous “sweet dream” attire along with your class shirt!

-Thursday: Wear your best work attire that would fit your future career!
-Friday: Dress Code: Homecoming shirt, roster shirt, PBIS shirt, or white, navy, or black school uniform shirt with school uniform bottoms. Show your Bobcat Spirit! Show up to the football game to support the Erath Bobcats as they BATTLE with the Berwick Panthers!

 

 IX Dress Code for each school on Homecoming Day.
-Erath High: Dress Code: Homecoming shirt, roster shirt, PBIS shirt, or white, navy, or black school uniform shirt with school uniform bottoms. Show your Bobcat Spirit! Show up to the football game to support the Erath Bobcats as they BATTLE with the Berwick Panthers!
-Erath Middle: EMS Students will be allowed to wear their EMS Fun Friday spirit shirt, blue homecoming shirt, or club shirt with jeans or uniform bottoms.  This will be a FREE jean day for students if they choose to wear jeans. 
-Dozier Elementary has designated this day as a free Blue and White Spirit Day in support of the Bobcats!  Students may wear a blue and white Erath Bobcat spirit shirt or a Dozier Elementary spirit shirt with their school uniform bottoms or blue jeans.  In addition the boys or girls may wear Bobcat jersey shirts with uniform/jean pants or shorts and the girls may wear Bobcat cheerleader uniforms.     Only students wearing the above items of clothes will be excused from wearing full uniforms.  (No muscle shirts or spaghetti strap shirts;  ONLY CHEEK CHEERS ALLOWED ON THE FACE, NO FACE PAINTING)
-LeBlanc Elementary- LeBlanc Elementary has designated this day as Blue and White Spirit Day in support of the Bobcats!  Students may wear a blue and white Erath Bobcat spirit shirt with their school uniform bottoms or blue jeans.  In addition the boys or girls may wear Bobcat jersey shirts with uniform pants/jeans or shorts and the girls may wear Bobcat cheerleader uniforms.  Only students wearing the above items of clothes will be excused from wearing full uniforms.  (No muscle shirts or spaghetti strap shirts;  ONLY CHEEK CHEERS ALLOWED ON THE FACE, NO FACE PAINTING)

XI. Homecoming Day Information for September 30th.

1. Mass: 7:30 a.m.
2. Football Tours Feeder Schools: 8:30 a.m.

3. Visitation Times

· Erath High Visitation: 9:00 - 11:00 AM

·Erath Middle Visitation 8:00-11:00 AM

·Dozier Elementary Visitation 8:30-10:00 AM

·LeBlanc Elementary hosts a "student only pep rally" in lieu of community visitation

4. Erath High Community Peprally in the gym from 11:00- 12:00

5. Erath High Parade time and route: 12:30 - 1:00 p.m.  The parade will begin @ approximately 12:30 on Broadway at EHS and will head north toward West Edwards.  It will take a left on West Edwards. When it gets to the stop sign (at the corner of South Kibbe and West Edwards), it will take a left onto South Kibbe. When the parade gets to West Primeaux (Dozier’s road) it will take right that will lead straight into Dozier’s parking lot. Those students will view the parade on the school campus. (The parade will be at the Dozier gates around 12:45 or so). The parade will return to West Primeaux and turn right on South Kibbe and it will end on Hill St.

 6. EHS and Erath Middle Dismissal: 12:45 or 12:50 p.m.

Dozier Elementary and LeBlanc Elementary early dismissal at approximately 1:30

7. Game time at 7 PM with the presentation of the court at 6:15.

 

X. Reminders for Erath High Students.

- For dress days,  Erath High students must abide by all guidelines presented by class presidents. If you choose not to follow the guidelines you will be sent to the office to change. - Classes are not allowed to prank other classes during their scheduled practices or meetings. - Vandalizing will not be tolerated. - All activities that occur must be handled with good sportsmanship. - Deadlines are a must. Any class that does not turn in an activity or project on time will be disqualified from that competition. No exceptions. - Homecoming is a student activity; parent/adult help should be limited. - Respect others. Ideas and thoughts should be accepted, not ignored. - No student can participate in more than two lunch time games. - HAVE FUN!

XI. Homecoming Dance- Saturday, October 1st.  The homecoming dance will be held on Saturday, October 1 in the EHS gym.  Members of the Homecoming and Powder Puff Courts will be presented at 7:30 p.m.  Family and friends of the courts may attend the presentation. The dance is a lock-in, students must arrive by 7:00 p.m.  No students will be admitted after that time and no students will be allowed to leave the dance until the end at 11:00 p.m.  Tickets for the dance are being sold in the front office until the end of the school day on Thursday.  Tickets are $10.00 each.  Each EHS student is allowed to purchase one guest ticket.  Guests must be high school age or older.  If they are not current students at EHS, a permission form must be completed and turned in to the front office before a guest ticket can be purchased.
