Where Academic Success Is The Rule For All Students
On Wednesday, November 9, 2016, Erath Middle Principal, Mrs. Wendy Stoute, announced that Sandra Broussard, a Special Education teacher was named the Erath Middle School 2017-18 Teacher of the Year.

She is a 1972 graduate of Erath High School, and a UL graduate certified in Special Education, Educational Leadership and has an add on as Teacher leader and English as a Second Language.

She has been employed at Vermilion Parish School Board central office in the Child Nutrition Office from 1990-2004 as an administrative clerk and moved up to bookkeeper.

She also worked as a para professional at J. H. Williams for one year. She began teaching at Dozier/Erath Middle in 2005.

She has taught many varieties of special education classes; inclusion, combination classes, READ 180 and currently self-contained. Ms. Broussard states that she chose to teach special needs students, because it is very rewarding. She continues to learn from her students each day and hopes that they can learn something to take with them and have an independent future to suit their needs. Ms. Broussard has three daughters; Theresa Touchet, Tarrah Davis and Tiffany LeBlanc who are also Erath Alumni. She has 10 grandchildren. She enjoys visiting with my family and friends and is very active in church.
