I chose to teach
special needs students, because it is very rewarding for me. I continue to
learn from my students each day and my hope is that they can learn something
from me to take with them and have an independent as possible future to suit
Education and Experience:
I am a graduate from Erath High School, UL graduate and
certified in Special Education, with an add on as
Teacher leader and English as a Second Language.
I have a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from
UL @ Lafayette.
I was employed at Vermilion Parish School Board central
office in the Child Nutrition Office from 1990-2004 as
an administrative clerk and moved up to bookkeeper.
I worked as a para professional at J. H. Williams for
I began teaching at Dozier/Erath Middle in 2005 where I
am currently teaching. I have taught many varieties of
special education classes; inclusion, combination
classes, READ 180 and currently self-contained.
I have three daughters; Theresa Touchet, Tarrah Davis
and Tiffany LeBlanc who are also Erath Alumni. I have
been blessed with 10 grandchildren. My oldest grandson,
Bryce, who is a 2014 graduate of EHS and is married to
Fernanda. Payne will be a Senior, Austin will be a
Sophomore and Kennedi will be a Freshman at EHS. Nate
and Carlee will be in 7th grade and William will be in
6th grade at EMS. Kathryn will be in 5th grade at
Dozier. Andrew in 5th grade and Chloe will be in 2nd
grade at LeBlanc Elementary.
I enjoy visiting with my family and friends. I attend as
many of my grandchildren’s extra curricula activities as
I possibly can. I will be vacationing in Italy in July
2017 and I am very excited. I enjoy listening to audio
books while I drive. I am very active in my church,
