Two students represented the
Vermilion Parish School Board at the Governor’s Mansion in Baton Rouge on
November 14, 2007. The two students selected were Blake Lee- Bessard and Kristi
Etheridge both Kaplan High Students. Both are students of Charlotte Broussard,
the talented art teacher for the parish. The students painted ornaments using
acrylic paint. Kristi Etheridge did a panoramic landscape with cattails in the
foreground and tree line in the distance with Christmas balls in them and the
cattails. Blake Lee-Bessard did a monochromatic blue and white ball with a
Louisiana blue crab in foreground and stars and snowflakes in background. Both
are lettered with "Vermilion" and student's signature '07. They will
hang on the tree at the Governor's mansion for the Christmas season.
Congratulations on a job well done representing Vermilion Parish.
