Langlinais Named LeBlanc Elementary Teacher of the Year


On Friday, November 13, 2015, LeBlanc Elementary Principal, Dawn Amy, announced that Kim LeBlanc Langlinas was named the school’s 2016-2017 Teacher of the Year! The school's librarian was then greeted with flowers by family members.


Langlinais is a 1993 graduate of Erath High and a 1996  UL graduate. She completed both Library Science and Pre K/K Certifications in 2011.


She began her teaching career at Erath Middle School in 1997 where she taught 6th grade ELA. She then moved to Mt. Carmel for the 1997-1998 school year.  From 1998 until 2011, she taught in Lafayette Parish at Youngsville Middle School teaching 5th grade Reading.  In 2011, she returned to the Vermilion Parish School System teaching 5th grade ELA at Herod Elementary.  During the 2012-2013 school year, Langlinais moved to LeBlanc Elementary as a 4th grade teacher.  January 2013 Langlinais began her tenure as the LES librarian.


She is married to Chris Langlinais and has three children.  Emma (8th)  and Erin (7th) are at Erath Middle School.   Luke, who is a student at LeBlanc Elementary, is a first grader.


The next level of competition for the LeBlanc Elementary librarian will now be at the parish level.
