          Students at Mount Carmel Elementary are encouraged to participate in extra-curricular activities. These activities involve many Mount Carmel students. Seventh and eighth graders can participate in tennis, boys and girls basketball, boys and girls track and field, and boys football. Sixth, seventh, and eighth graders who maintain a 3.0 grade average are invited to join the Beta Club. Mount Carmel Elementary also has an active student council with officers from the seventh and eighth grade, and representatives from the fifth and sixth grades. Seventh and eighth grade students, along with a student photographer, put together the Mount Carmel Yearbook. All students in grades 7 through 8 participate yearly in the parish Social and Science Fair.
