Mount Carmel Elementary is co-educational and is a not-for-profit private corporation. It is a Roman Catholic Institution sponsored by the Congregation of Our Lady of Mount Carmel. Mount Carmel admits all children regardless of race, sex, creed or national origin providing openings exist.

     The mission of Mount Carmel Elementary is to form a faith-filled community which follows the teachings of Jesus, provides excellence in education and encourages a zealous commitment to prayer and service.

Location

Mount Carmel Elementary is located in the city of Abbeville, Louisiana, in the parish of Vermilion, in the heart of Cajun Country. For specifics on the city of Abbeville, please contact the Abbeville Chamber of Commerce. The city and parish have many attractions and festivals celebrating Cajun life, culture and food. Our school colors are brown and white, and our school mascot is the eagle.

Safe Environment

Persons who wish to volunteer at Mount Carmel must participate in Safe Environment Training. You must attend the initial training, then you have the option of participating in the continuing education by attending a session or participating in an online session.
