Chantay Abshire  - 4th Grade

I chose to teach because I love children and I want them to love learning and school as much as I did growing up. I want to teach them life skills so that they may become caring and successful adults in society.

Email & Homework

  •  I am married to Ryan Abshire who is also in education and works at J.H. Williams Middle School. We have a son, Spencer.  Six years ago, my husband and I achieved a lifetime goal together by going back to college to obtain our Master’s in Educational Leadership. We wanted to show our son that you are never too old to achieve a dream and to continue to always learn more about yourself and the world around you.

Hobbies and Interests:

  •  I enjoy listening to my talented husband and his band play music while spending quality time with family and friends. We also enjoy dancing when he takes a break from playing. We want Spencer to know how important it is to keep our Cajun culture alive so he beginning to learn a couple of instruments to be able to play with the band.

  • I also enjoy traveling with our family and friends. There is always something to learn from every trip taken. I love sharing my experiences with my students.
