Congratulations to Justin Manceaux and Trevor Simon for being selected to the All State Orchestra.  Justin and Trevor went through 2 rounds of auditions and were selected among musicians from the entire state.

Congratulations to our marching band for scoring all superior ratings at the Deridder High School Marching Competition this past Saturday.  The band also won 1st place in all categories in their class including drum major, percussion, auxillary, and overall band.

Science Club members need to show report cards to Coach Blake this week.

Any high school student interested in joining Senior Beta may pick up the paperwork from Ms. Alyson Stroder or Ms. Lisa Lynch.  The only requirement to join Sr. Beta is that you have to have a 3.2 GPA.  The paperwork and fees are due by next Wednesday, October 22.  Also, when you turn in paperwork and money, please submit a copy of your report card or printout from the parent command center with your grades for the 1st 9 weeks.  All students who have never been a member of Sr. Beta will owe $25 and all returning members will owe $10.  The permission slip for District Day, which is on Monday, November 3 at Kaplan High School is also included.  If you would like to attend you must also turn in the permission slip with your t-shirt size and $15 by next Wednesday.  If you have any questions, please Ms. Alyson or Ms. Lisa.

Attention all Seniors wishing to participate in Powder Puff court:  there will be a short meeting tomorrow morning at 7:00 am in Mrs. Jessica's classroom, if you cannot attend this meeting please see Mrs. Jessica before the end of the day today.

Reminder to all high school class treasurers:  you need to turn in all money collected from powder puff coaches and players ASAP.

Homecoming Dance tickets on sale now, the cost is $7 a ticket until Oct. 22.  Buy them from Mrs. Jessica before school, after school, at lunch or between classes.  Tickets will be sold for $10 at the door.

Remember students:  if you wish to bring a date to the Homecoming Dance that is not a student at NV, you must fill out a guest form and return it to Mrs. Jessica by the end of the day on Wednesday, October 22.  You can pick one up in the front office or in Mrs. Jessica's door.

Monday, October 20 will be the last day to turn in FBLA membership forms and dues.  Dues are $20.  Also, any past member who would like to be an officer, must see Mrs. Shontelle by tomorrow.

All students must check the lists posted either by the office, in the mall or by Mrs. Shontelle's room.  If your name is on it, you must see Mrs. Shontelle ASAP.

Attention Swim team - Your next meet is Tuesday, October 21 at the Earl J. Chris Pool in Lafayette.  Be at the pool by 4:45.  You must compete in the meets on October 21 and October 28 in order to swim in the District Meet on November 5.  Those of you who still owe for t-shirts need to bring in your money as soon as possible.

Soccer Conditioning Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 3-4 p.m.

Please excuse the Volleyball team at 2:10 today for their game at Iota.  JV at 4:00 and Varsity at 5:00.  Good Luck Ladies!
