History Wrestling is a fairly new sport at North Vermilion. Coach Brad Bergeron and Stephen Lotief started the program in 2005. The program started off slow but has picked up tremendously over the last few years. Having had many state placings its first couple of years the starting of the program was a success and would grow as the years continued. In 2008 NV's Garrett Granger became the first state champion at the 103 weight class. The following year in 2009 Jared Broussard became the second in the 145 weight class. That same year NV brought home the state-runner-ups trophy. |
