Dana Gautreaux

Professional:

  • I chose to teach because I wanted to influence other's lives the way my teachers guided my own life. In Highschool I was fortunate enough to be in Mrs. Toby Edwards English class. That year I developed a love for Reading and Language that I had not had before. It was in that year that I decided teaching was the profession and calling for me.

  • I attended and  graduated from North Vermilion Highschool. I then attended USL and recieved my Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education grades 1-8.

Personal:

  • While in college at USL, I met and married my husband of 19 years, Micheal S. Gautreaux. Upon his graduation, he joined the Active U.S. Army and we were stationed in Ft. Benning, Georgia. This began our 9 year journey around the United States as an active duty military family. Over our 19 years, we have been very fortunate to live in the great states of Georgia,  Alaska, Virginia, Louisiana, California, and Texas. Throughout our travels, I taught in many different school districts and learned many things about our great nation.

  • I can honestly say it was a blessing to  move home with my husband Micheal and two daughters, Rebecca and Rose in the spring of 2014. It was only made more wonderful with the opening of  North Vermilion Middle School and my ELA teaching position.

  • I enjoy reading and exercising in my free time.
