I was raised by two educators and live among a family filled with educators. My brother and his wife are both educators, along with many cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

Besides that I am married to an educator and our oldest daughter is now an educator as well.  (See I told you!) Educating others is not only my passion; it is my life.  What could ever be better than being able to make a difference in someone’s life, especially the youth!

My husband and I have three children.  Our daughter, Dannon, teaches second grade. Dade, our oldest son, attends McNeese State University (Go Pokes!).  Our youngest, Dutton, is in middle school here with me at NVMS.  Needless to say, we are always at some extracurricular activity in the evenings, but we enjoy every single minute of it.

Please join me in promoting a love of reading in your child because a child who reads will become an adult who thinks.  Don’t forget to check out the Library link on our school’s home page. There you will find a link to AR Home Connect so that you can monitor your child’s reading growth.  We also have many programs taking place in the library throughout the year to promote literacy and twenty-first century learning skills: collaboration & teamwork, creativity & imagination, critical thinking, and problem solving. Ask your reader about some of the exciting events taking place!
