District Internet and E-Mail Access and Expectations

The Internet is a vast global computer network. The Vermilion Parish School District offers Internet access to all students. For the safety of our students we use a content filtering system which monitors and restricts network and Internet activity as prescribed by federal law.Users should not expect email, files, or any Internet use to be private. The network is provided to enhance studentsí educational experiences and help prepare them for the 21st Century. Access to network services is given to students who agree to act in a considerate and responsible manner. Parental permission is required. Access is a privilege - not a right. Individual users of the district's computer networks are responsible for their behavior and communications over those networks. It is expected that users will comply with all district rules and regulations and will honor the agreements they have signed.

User Responsibilities

Users of the Vermilion Parish Network must conduct themselves in accordance to all school and district policies and rules as outlined in the Student/Parent Handbook. In keeping with these policies and rules, the following are NOT allowed:

  • Attempting to bypass the monitoring, filtering, or security system
