Adopts Technology Standards
The BESE Board
approved the recommendation of the State Technology Advisory
Committee to adopt technology standards for students,
teachers, and administrators in February. In
particular, BESE changed the
Louisiana K-12 Educational Technology Guidelines
to the Louisiana K-12
Educational Technology
Standards
and adopted the NETS
for Teachers and the
NETS for School Administrators.
The adoption of these standards allows for greater
implementation into curriculum, school improvement, and
professional development efforts in all of your districts.
Additionally, the adoption of these standards provides for
official benchmarks, recognized by the state, by which we
can measure (a) students as technologically literate by the
end of grade 8, and (b) teachers as qualified to use
technology in instruction (NCLB).
