DELCAMBRE

Located just 12 miles east of Abbeville on LA Highway 14, this is a small town which blesses its fishing fleet each year during the colorful and exciting Delcambre Shrimp Festival.  The town is close to the Gulf of Mexico where rich fishing eaters are harvested year-riound.  It is a town where many of the parish's early settlers made their homes and created a strong agricultural base from which many other industries grew.  At the city docks, located along the Delcambre Canal, you will see shrimp boats and seafood packing plants.  And don't forget to visit the beautiful 100 year old Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church and cemetery which dates back to the 1800's.  Stop by the Delcambre City Hall for tourist information.  337-685-4462
