Located just 12 miles east of Abbeville
on LA Highway 14, this is a small town which blesses its fishing fleet
each year during the colorful and exciting Delcambre Shrimp
Festival. The town is close to the Gulf of Mexico where rich fishing
eaters are harvested year-riound. It is a town where many of the
parish's early settlers made their homes and created a strong agricultural
base from which many other industries grew. At the city docks, located along the Delcambre Canal, you will see shrimp
boats and seafood packing plants. And don't forget to visit the
beautiful 100 year old Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church and cemetery which dates back to the 1800's. Stop by the Delcambre
