Center 1: LEAP4Fun
Overview: Students will use this website to review language arts, science, social studies, math and other skills covered on the ITBS and LEAP.
Open_Activity: The teacher will approach the students at this website and review how to play the game.
The teacher will also show the students how to print out the final results to turn in as an assessment tool.
Component: Small groups at computers, other students doing review work with teacher of the teacherís choice
Time: 45-60 minutes
Participants: small groups
Procedure: Students will access the website of: http://www.photographicvr.com and will select the amount of players that will be playing the game.
Students will roll the dice and answer a variety of questions from different subjects.
Upon completion of the game, the students will print out the final page showing correct and incorrect percentages.

Students are to write on this printed page the name of each students as it corresponds to the player number.
Example: Player 1: John Broussard
Player 2: Samantha Nguyen etc.

The teacher will use the printed out papers from the class as a whole to review skills in need of remediation for a majority of the students as a whole class activity or small groups for skills that only a few students need remediation in.

Expectation: Students will respect each other as well as the materials in the classroom. All students will allow learning to take place. Students will use technological and traditional methods of research to review skills for standardized testing as well as every day usage in various subject areas and basic life functions.
Questions: Sample questions covered in the website include:

What is the capital city of Arizona? (4 choices are given)
Lisa spent $2.25 for a slice of pizza and $1.30 for a soda. How much did she spend in all?
Choice 1. Add $2.25 and $1.30 Choice 2. Subtract $1.30 from $2.25 Choice 3. Multiply $2.25 and $1.30 Choice 4. Divide $2.25 by $1.30

The plural form of envelope is:
Choice 1: envelops 2. envelopes 3. envelopís 4. letters

There are also science, social studies, and other subjects covered in the questions

Evaluation: Students will print out final page from website showing skills mastered or in need of remediation.

Close_Act: The teacher will discuss with each group at this center the skills that are in need of remediation as well as complimenting students on skills mastered.
Hints/Tips: Be sure all websites are still functional. All websites were functional as of 7/09/03 upon completion of this unit.
